Uncle Carl will always be remembered for his warm, genuine smile and kind and gentle heart. Growing up our families spent countless holidays and celebrations together, and no one can forget the summer Sundays at the club! Just the smell of chlorine takes me back. He is a big part of my memories, from childhood through adulthood--- whether it was chatting on the CB radio on the “oh-so-long” drive home from Allentown (way back in the day before cell phones!), waiting for him and dad to come home from their traditional after-Thanksgiving hunting trips in PA, our visits to the shooting range or sharing bottles of wine and reminiscing about our trips to Disney (circa 1980) and Alaska so many years later. Poor Uncle Carl, never has a man been made to ride “It’s a Small World” so many times against his will-and he never let me forget it! Haha! You will be missed and are forever in our hearts, CAB 9……rest in peace, happy with Aunt Mary by your side once again.

I wanted to share a memory of my Uncle Carl from about 2000 when he came out to Colorado to hunt elk with us in the Flat Tops Wilderness area. It was truly wonderful to have Uncle Carl, Uncle Joe, and my Dad together in elk camp. Though the hunting was lean that year, it was one of the most memorable trips we’ve ever had.
