Walter M. Katona, 74, of Chesterfield Twp., passed away peacefully on November 16, 2021 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Trenton, he has been a lifelong Chesterfield resident. He was a graduate of Rensselear Poly Technic Institute. Walter was a lifelong farmer, and owner of Katona Farms in Chesterfield, which was founded by his late father. He was a huge proponent of the Farmland Preservation Program of New Jersey. Son of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Molnar) Katona, husband of the late Linda (Parrey) Katona, and uncle of the late Keith Catalfamo, he is survived by his children Jennifer L. Katona, and Walter "Chip" Katona, his grandchildren Walter J. "Jimmy" Katona, and Joseph L. "Joey" Katona, his sisters Faith and her husband John Catalfamo, and Wendy Katona-Farrell, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm with a prayer service starting at 6:00pm at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610.
