Obituary of Margaret M. Sullivan

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret (Maisie) Sullivan, 96, of Hamilton Township passed away on Wednesday, June 29th at the Princeton Atrium. Born in Birmingham, England, she was a lifelong resident of the Trenton/Hamilton area. Maisie enjoyed a career in real estate, and prided herself on finding the perfect home for her many clients. Although her education was interrupted by WWll, she was a self-taught legal secretary earlier in her working career, and was employed by the law firm of Morton Dietz in Trenton. Maisie loved to paint, and her oils and watercolors were hung, sold, and enjoyed by many in local galleries and art shows. She specialized in portraits, and her skill in capturing one's personality on canvas was inspiring. Maisie courageously came to America in 1946 as a British war bride, leaving behind her precious English family including her parents Sarah (Hannah) and Henry Jones. She was an active member in the "English Girls" club and their monthly meetings (which still go on today), helped ease her homesickness. She is predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Daniel J. Sullivan. Widowed at a young age, she valiantly raised her 4 children as a single mom. She is also predeceased by her beloved eldest son, Michael D. Sullivan. Her remaining children are comforted by the fact that she is now reunited with them. She leaves behind her devoted son Daniel J. Sullivan and wife Mildred, and his children Nicole, Kevin, and Brian. Also, her two daughters: Pamela Kurst and husband Gary, and their two daughters and son, Jessica, Jenna, and Dan. Margaret Murphy, who lovingly shouldered much of her care, and husband Tim, their sons Timmy and Mike and grandsons Noah and Trenton. Maisie had a particularly close bond with her great-grandson Noah, and shared many interests with him. She will also be missed by Pamela Duncan, and her family Andrew, Sharon, and Adam. Many loving nieces and nephews adored their "Aunt Maisie", and hold fond memories of her. The children invite family, friends, and loved ones to share in the celebration of Maisie's life on Saturday, July 9th at noon, at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad Street, Trenton, NJ 08610. Calling hour is 11:00am until services. Interment of cremains will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, where Maisie will eternally rest beside her beloved spouse and son. In lieu of flowers, her children request that you perform an act of kindness to someone….and lovingly remember Maisie as you do.
