Mary K. Henger, 86, of Hamilton passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024 with family at her bedside. Mary was born in Hamilton and has been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School. Mary was a parishioner of St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She, along with her family, celebrated many happy milestones and memories in the Parish.
Mary was formerly employed by the State of New Jersey. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy and she cherished the time she spent baking, cooking, and sharing many family dinners. Most special to Mary were the many trips to the Jersey shore for crabbing and fishing with her family. She was a proud lifetime member of the New Jersey Beach Buggy Association. Mary also enjoyed reading and watching the Phillies games on television alongside her loving husband, George.
Daughter of the late Michael and Catherine(Stein) Galayda, Mary was predeceased by the love of her life, George, to whom she was happily married for 65 years. She often said she would be at peace when they were reunited. Mary is survived by her devoted daughters and sons in law, Deborah and Richard Ongaro of Columbus and Mary-Jo and Richard Kamin of LaPlata, Md. She is survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Ongaro and wife Amy, David Ongaro and wife Marisa, Richard Ongaro, Kristen Wiggins and husband Chad, Katherine Grant and husband Taylor, and Matthew Kamin. Mary felt blessed to have been a great grandmother to Rocco, Andrew and Angelo Ongaro, Eloise, Oliver and Clara Wiggins and James and Maggie Grant.
