Obituary of James P. Sharpe

James P Sharpe Sr went home to be with the Lord on the 26th day of April. 2024.
Jim was born in Somerset County, grew up in Crotan and lived in Flemington and Lambertville, NJ. He attended Hunterdon Central High School. He retired from Johanna Farm Food of Flemington, NJ and was a retired member of the Lambertville/New Hope Rescue Squad. While living in Ewing, NJ, he attended the Pearson Memorial United Methodist Church in White Horse and upon retiring to Whiting, NJ attended the Whiting Methodist Church. He was a past member of the Lambertville Moose, a past member and past officer of the Bordentown Elks where he was a long time chairman of the Veterans Committee and a chairman of the NJ SW District Veterans Committee. He enjoyed working on the Special Children Breakfast.
He was also a member of the Hightstown Elks. Jim was an avid bowler, loved NASCAR, his favorite driver was Dale Jarrett, and was a huge Washington Red Skins fan. He enjoyed boating and fishing.
Son of the late Marjorie German and Thomas Sharpe Sr. and is predeceased by his first wife Florence Bohemn Sharpe and his children James P Sharpe Jr., Leslie Sharpe Arreco granddaughter Katie Sharpe, stepson Robert Dixon and his beloved kitty kids, Teddy.
Chloe, Patrick & Jeffrey. He is survived by his wife Sharon Dixon Sharpe and his daughters and sons in-law Polly and Paul Bokus, Wendy and Sal Maltese and daughter in-law Debra Sharpe along with stepson and wife Michael and Tara Dixon.
Grandchildren Anthony (Meagan) Sharpe, Mallie Sharpe, Kendra Sharpe, Jeremy Sharpe, Stella and Alex Maltese, Jesse (Brooke) James, Sara Bokus and step-grandchildren CJ (Sarah) Dixon, Jessica Dixon. Great Grandchildren Emery and Addison James, James Parker Sharpe, step-Grandchildren Patrick and Ryan Dixon and step great grandchildren, Cole & Kason Dixon and Jason Reimer.
A celebration of Jim's life will held on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Calling hours will be held from 10am to 11am at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 S. Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610. Committal service and Interment will immediately follow at the River View Cemetery, Trenton.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the ASPCA.
