Stephanie Chaconis, 89, of Lakewood, passed away on June 1, 2023.
Born in Manhattan, she has been a lifelong area resident. She was retired from the Church Pension Fund of NYC, and the Manhattan Life Insurance Co. She enjoyed puzzles, the outdoors, and gardening.
Daughter of the late Manolis and Fannie (Georgitsopolous) Frangulis, wife of the late Lucas Chaconis, and sister of the late Thomas Stathopolis, Dino Stathopolis, William Stathopolis, George Stathopolis, and Angie Arethas.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Emanuel and Kathleen Chaconis, her granddaughter Alyssa Chaconis, her sister Sandy Kontos, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church 1200 Klockner Rd. Hamilton, NJ 08619. Protopresbyteros James Pavlow will officiate. Interment will be in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. A visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am at the church. Arrangements are under the care of Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 South Broad Street Hamilton, NJ 08610.
