Obituary of David E. Oiler

David E. Oiler, 81, of Hamilton, passed away on May 24, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born in McArthur, Ohio, David has been an area resident for the past 61 years. He is retired from Bristol Myers Squibb. David was a former member of the experimental aircraft association. He held a private pilot's license, and a glider license. He formerly raised honey bees. He enjoyed gardening, and was an avid reader. In his retirement, he traveled with his wife in their RV. David was a longtime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He formerly served on the church council, he was the property chairman, head counter, an usher, and the Sunday coffee maker. Son of the late Loyd Glenroy Oiler and Zella Geraldine (Altherr) Morgan, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary G. (Lawrence) Oiler, of Hamilton, his children Judith A. Oiler and her husband Robert Loughlin, Jr. of Columbus, David L. Oiler and his wife Donna of Tabernacle, and John P. Oiler and Dana Hecht of Baldwin, NY, grandchildren Christina M. Gilchrist (Geoff) and Jeremy E. Oiler, great-grandson Geoffrey Chase Gilchrist, 2 sisters Janice Morris and Marilynn Voss, sister-in-law Angela Lawrence, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 9:00am to 11:00am at St. Mark Lutheran Church 350 Whitehorse Ave. Hamilton, NJ 08610. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am. Pastor Ian Hill will officiate. Arrangements are under the care of Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 S. Broad St. Hamilton, NJ 08610.
