Dorothy M. Gidusko, 88 passed away peacefully on April 13, 2021 at Morris Hall in Lawrenceville. She has been a resident there since 2016 and was known for her religious devotion and generosity to the staff and residents. Dorothy was born in Trenton, the youngest daughter of John and Anna (Kapitan) Gidusko, and was their devoted caregiver. They were Ruthenians who emigrated from Austria-Hungary around 1910. She was predeceased by her parents, brother John and sisters: Helen Borelli, Ann Pachuta and Margaret Sibenik and her niece Michele Pachuta. Dorothy was a devout Byzantine Rite Catholic and adhered to all their rituals until she passed away. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Trenton, a daily liturgy attendee, member of the choir and bingo volunteer. For many years she was a teacher in the church's religious education program. She was a member of the Basilian Associated and participated in the spirituality and prayer life of the Sisters of St. Basil of Uniontown, PA. Dorothy graduated from St. Mary's Elementary School, Trenton High School and Mercer County Community College with a degree in Art. She always loved to paint and draw. In 1994 she studied Iconography with Phillip Zimmerman and painted religious icons for as long as she was able. She loved to gift people her icons and introduced many Roman Catholics to this art form. She is survived by Jack and Joan Pachuta, Matthew and Gloria Sibenik, Rev. Simeon Sibenik and Patricia and Richard Kuhn. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Friday April 16, 2021 at 10:00am at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 202 Grand St. Trenton. Fr. Yuriy Oros will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.
