Obituary of Julian J. Harhigh

Julian Joseph "Babe" Harhigh Whiting, N.J. - Julian Joseph "Babe" Harhigh, 74, went home to be with our Lord peacefully in the loving presence of his earth angel and companion, Marie Tinyanoff, after a brave battle with metastatic prostate cancer. Mr. Harhigh was born in Trenton, N.J. on April 25, 1946. He was the loving and dedicated son of the late Nicholas Harhigh, Sr. and the late Julia Reminicky Harhigh. He graduated from Princeton high School and after, he served for 6 years in the United States Marine reserves, honorably discharged on May 7th, 1971 with a final rank of Corporal (E-4). Julian was a an avid fan of John Wayne and the old westerns, cowboy movies and TV shows and loved great and classic music from country to opera. He believed in good nutrition and exercised regularly, keeping fit and trim. He was a true American patriot, an honorable man who stood firm for what he believed was right. As a devout Byzantine Catholic, the Lord was first in his life and everything else followed in life, according to his morals, values and beliefs. He attended church devoutly on Sundays and holy days and supported his church and other charities. He dedicated his life to the care of his parents, during his military service and long after. He worked in maintenance and retired from Lockheed Martin to provide continued care to his gracious mother, later moving to Jane lew, W.V., to include his sister Mary in the tender care of their mother until her passing. In 2012 he returned to New Jersey to live in Whiting, where in March of 2018 he met and fell for the love of his life, Marie Tinyanoff, who accompanied and cared for him until his passing. Julian is survived by his older brother Sergei Igor Harhigh (wife Ruth Harhigh) and sister Mary Carol Harhigh Eldridge (husband Theodore E. Eldridge), 12 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews and three great great nieces, with one great great nephew on the way. He loved all of his family dearly and prayed for each and every one every single day, spending several hours in prayer, always trusting them to God's will. He was pre deceased by his brother Nicholas Harhigh (wife Geraldine Torkington Harhigh), brother John Harhigh and nephew Daniel Harhigh. Visitation will be Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Knott's colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad Street, Hamilton, N.J. 08610. The Ceremony of Christian Burial and Liturgy will be held at 9:30 a.m. at The Assumption of the Virgin Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 202 Grand Street, Trenton, N.J. 08611, followed by burial with Marine honors at the St. Mary's Cemetery no. 2, Ridge Ave. Trenton, N.J. 08610. Donations may be made in Mr. Harhigh's name to the assumption of the Virgin Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Trenton N.J., St. Jude Children's Hospital or any US Veterans association.
