Harold J. Sparks, Sr., 95 of Columbus, passed away on February 18, 2021. Born in New Egypt, he was a lifelong Trenton resident, and a resident of Columbus for the past 12 years. Harold was a proud Navy Veteran, having served on the USS Texas during WWII. He was a longtime meat cutter for the Local 56 Meat Cutters Union. Son of the late William H. and Susan (Applegate) Sparks, husband of the late Mary C. (Davis) Sparks, and pre-deceased by his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Harold is survived by his loving children, Harold J. "Bud" Sparks and his wife Terri of Monroe Twp., his daughter Mary Sparks of Columbus, his grandson David Sparks of Fairless Hills, PA, nephew William Sparks and his wife Theresa, niece Shirley Roberts, and nephew Todd Sparks and his wife Noelle. Harold's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church 260 High St., Mount Holly, NJ 08060. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Stjude.org).
