Obituary of Richard Voss

Richard "Dick" Voss passed away at home on March 27, 2016 at the age of 69. He was born in 1946 in New York, New York and after graduating from Hamilton High School West in 1963, joined the Navy. He proudly served the United States as a Boatswain's Mate until being honorably discharged in 1967. After the Navy, Richard Voss worked as a bartender for ten years at the Old Heidelberg Restaurant in Hamilton Township. In 1977, Richard and Robert Kornetti purchased the Olde Nottingham Tavern. They ran the business together until Mr. Kornetti's death in 1995. Dick had a special love for the Nottingham and continued to run the business and tend bar there until his death – he did it for his children, his grandchildren, and all the good people who drink there. Richard was a coach with the Hamilton Football League for 17 years and a life-long member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Darla Voss; his two children, Heather Voss Andberg and Kyle Voss; his son in law, Brent Andberg; and daughter in law, Kathleen Voss. He has four grandchildren whom he loved very much, Caden, Madigan, Emelyn and Shea. The visitation will be held at the Olde Nottingham Tavern, 9 Mercer Street, Hamilton Square, on March 31st, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 350 White Horse Avenue, Hamilton, on April 1st at 11:00 am.
