Wendy M. Szelingowski, 60, of Hamilton passed away July 7, 2020 surrounded by family. Wendy was born in Trenton, NJ, and was a lifelong Hamilton resident. She graduated Steinert High School in 1978, earned an associate's degree from Mercer County Community College, and later her cosmetology license. Wendy enjoyed her years as a stay-at-home mother before returning to the workforce in various roles until ultimately retiring from the New Jersey State Police Cyber Crimes Unit as a senior clerk in December 2019. Wendy was a member of the Mothers of Multiples Club and an avid fan of her children's sports teams. She enjoyed volunteering for the various school and youth organizations that her children were part of. Wendy most loved family time with her seven grandchildren, vacationing on Long Beach Island, and walks with her dog, Lucy. Wendy is predeceased by her parents, Barry and Gail Coan of Hamilton, and sister, Susan Babice. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Donald Szelingowski of Hamilton; children, Daniel (Kristin) Szelingowski of Morristown, David (Cristina) Szelingowski of Summit, Kelley (Cody) Reice of Maple Shade, and Stefanie (Darwin IV) Kieffer of Hamilton; grandchildren, Klara and Winifred Szelingowski, John Michael and Theodore Szelingowski, Lily Reice, and Darwin V and Cora Kieffer; brother, Michael (Donna) Coan of Elmer; nieces and nephew, Jenna Whitaker, Jason Babice, Jamie Coan and Amanda Dastolfo; and great nieces and nephews. Due to pandemic restrictions the memorial service will be private for the family. Condolences may be left for the family at knottscolonialfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
