Obituary of Gladys M. Rooney

Gladys Ward Rooney, 88, of Trenton NJ, went to heaven on June 6, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Frances Ward, her sister Madeline Toth and brother Jack Ward. She was married to the late Eric Rooney of Liverpool, England. Gladys enters eternal life to be joined with her late son, Dennis Rooney. She is survived by her children, Jo Ann and Alan Haugh, Ward and Mary Beth Rooney, Kathleen Vander Schuyt and Joseph Ventimiglia, Patricia Rooney, and Christine Stout Baum and Brian Baum. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Dr. Eric Rooney, Ward Rooney, Genevieve and Dr. Richard Scafidi, Kyle Vander Schuyt, Kristina Haugh, Kasey Vander Schuyt and Samantha Stout. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jacquie, Michael, and Sarah Ventimiglia, and Rachel and Christine Baum. Also surviving are her brother Peter Ward and sister Frances Jingoli. Gladys graduated from Cathedral High School in 1948. She retired from the State of New Jersey Judiciary division in 1993. She was an amazing dancer, loved to laugh and cherished spending time with her family whether at home or on vacations. The visitation is from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Tuesday at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad Street, Hamilton NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish, 3500 South Broad Street, Hamilton NJ. The burial will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The family would like to thank the beautiful people who so lovingly took care of her, Christie Peterson, Holly Green, as well as Lyna, Precious and their devoted hospice team.
