Obituary of Jean H. Mellor

Jean H. Mellor, 84, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 26th 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hopewell, she lived in NJ until 2010 when she moved to Myrtle Beach, SC for seven years, before moving to Delaware to be closer to her family. Jean was a Transportation Coordinator for Mercer County, from which she retired. Jean was an avid player of Bingo, and card games. She loved to travel, and was also involved with many senior centers. Jean also loved and adored her grandchildren, and spending time with them. Daughter of the late Raymond and Marian (Kirkham) Hart, mother of the late James Mellor, and sister of the late Walter Hart, Harold Hart, and Eleanor Loveless, she is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Arthur and Linda Mellor of New Paltz, NY, and Thomas and Joyce Mellor of Milton, DE, her three grandchildren Ashley and Amy Mellor, and Steven Ayling, and her sister and brother-in-law Doris and Ernest Johnson. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 1st, at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 South Broad St., Hamilton, NJ 08610. Calling hours will be held from 9:00am-11:00am at the funeral home. Reverend Ian Hill will officiate the service. Interment will take place in Colonial Memorial Park Cemetery.
