Margaret Messling Tindall passed away peacefully at the age of 99 at Rose Hill Assisted Living in Robbinsville on January 29, 2022. Born on June 7, 1922, in Kingston, NJ. Margaret lived her entire life in the Princeton/West Windsor area. As a very young child, she only spoke German until she entered elementary school. She graduated from Princeton High School and went on to work for Bell Telephone Company. Her career also included years as a telephone switchboard operator at Meadow Lakes in Hightstown, NJ and at Mercer County Community College. She married the love of her life, Melvin Tindall, and together they had four children. A widow since 1975, Margaret never remarried but lived her life to the fullest. She loved long walks, sometimes walking five miles even in her senior years; traveling was her passion, having been to every corner of the world, including a polar bear expedition. She loved gardening, growing and canning her own tomatoes, and even loved to pull weeds! Margaret had a firm belief in God and lived her life accordingly! Margaret is predeceased by her parents Rudolf and Martha Messling, husband Melvin, her daughter Carole Tindall Reed, who passed away in 2012, and her sister Ellie Dean. She is survived by her three sons, Melvin (Joyce) Tindall of Indiana, Alfred (Liz) Tindall of Allentown, NJ, and Ronald Tindall of Florida; a son-in-law Stuart L. Reed of Allentown, NJ; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren with another on the way, 2 sisters Charlotte Glover of Pennsylvania, Evelyn Peden of Virginia; many nieces, nephews and a dear cousin in Germany, Karola Kippenberg, and her family. The family would like to thank the staff at Rose Hill, as well as Vitas Hospice for taking such good care of her in her final days. Due to the ongoing pandemic, there will be a private viewing and service at the Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church in West Windsor at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022 followed by interment at the Dutch Neck Cemetery. Rev. Jan Willem Van Der Werff will officiate. Arrangements are under the care of Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 South Broad Street Hamilton, NJ 08610. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Condolences for the family can be left at www.knottscolonialfuneralhome.com.
