Anni Greif Obituary
Anni Greif, age 94, met our Lord on May 12, 2026. Born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, in 1931, Anni immigrated to the United States with her family in the early 1950s. She made her home in Trenton, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Anni was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Maria Greif; her sisters Vera (John) Giangulli and Mitzi (Joseph) Fisher; her nephew John (Cherie, living) Giangulli; and her lifelong friend Polly Scheifle.
She is survived by her nieces Rosemarie Fisher (Angi Livermore), Cindy (Karl) Olsen, Marita (Scott) McGee, and Erika (Nat) Terrizzi; her nephew Eddie (Sharon) Giangulli; and her great-nieces and nephews Karlee (Rich) Majoros, Joe (Shelbie) McGee, Dylan McGee, Edward Cuomo, Nikki Cuomo, Gabriella Terrizzi, and Antonio Terrizzi.
She also leaves behind her grand-nephews and niece Rory, Emmett, and Clara Majoros, as well as her devoted companion Ronnie Johnson and close friend Willie Robinson.
A trailblazer in women's athletics, Anni was a proud member of the Trenton Softball Hall of Fame. She founded and led the Trenton All Americans, a Women's AAA fast-pitch softball organization, for more than 30 years. Under her leadership, the team became pioneers in local women's sports, earning numerous local, state, and national championships, along with state congressional recognition.
Anni's passion extended far beyond the softball field. She was a tireless advocate for abandoned and stray animals, spending countless hours feeding, rescuing, and caring for local dogs and cats. Her compassion for animals was one of the defining joys of her life.
She also loved skiing, traveling to Vermont as well as the Swiss and Austrian Alps. She was a member of the German American club as well as many of the local clubs. On Saturday nights, she could be found dancing at local German clubs, enjoying polkas, waltzes, and live German music. Even when she could no longer attend in person, she continued to dance joyfully in her living room.
Anni will be remembered for her many accomplishments, but even more for her generous heart, strong spirit, and deep compassion for others, especially the animals she cherished. She touched countless lives with her kindness, dedication, and unwavering care. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created and the lives she improved. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
