Obituary of Dolores E. Marion

Please share a memory of Dolores to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dolores (Dee) E. Marion passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson Respite Care in Hamilton, New Jersey. She had just celebrated her 99th birthday.

Born on September 30, 1926, Dee was the heart of our family - a woman known for her warmth, her fierce devotion, and her ability to make everyone feel loved. She had a quiet strength, a strong will, and a tender soul.

After growing up in Trenton, NJ, Dolores settled in Yardville, where she and her husband raised their children and built a life rooted in love and community. She remained there for the rest of her days, finding joy in the simple pleasures of home - birdwatching from her window, crocheting blankets for her family, creating art, and working on puzzles.

She spent her final days in the company of those who adored her, offering smiles, laughter, and quiet moments of grace even through her decline. She remained herself - spirited, grateful, and full of heart - until the very end.

Dolores is predeceased by her husband, John J. Marion, her only sister, Geraldine Thomann and her parents, Walter and Ann Anderson. Surviving are her 3 children and their families: John and Kathy Marion of Hightstown, New Jersey, David and Theresa Marion of Croydon, Pennsylvania and Kathleen and Gary Polhemus of Sebago, Maine as well as 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Her legacy is stitched into every afghan, each one a colorful testament to the warmth she wrapped around us all. Dee will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be on Monday, October 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad Street followed by graveside service at Colonial Cemetery.

Calling hours are Monday 9:00 – 11:00am at the funeral home.

In lieu of donations, the family invites you to take a quiet moment of remembrance with a warm blanket and a cup of Red Rose tea, the way Dee would have wanted.
