Obituary of Edward T. Woodrow Jr.

Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edward T. Woodrow, Jr. passed away on April 30, 2025 at Greenwood House Senior Care, Ewing, NJ. That date was also his wedding anniversary. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was preceded in death by his parents Edward T. Woodrow, Sr. and Elizabeth B. Quill, and his wife Madelene D. Woodrow. He is survived by his children Thomas Woodrow, Michael Woodrow (Mary) and Mary Ann York; grandchildren Edward Woodrow (Laura), Eric Woodrow (Ashley), Maura Woodrow, Samantha York and Alexander York; and great grandchildren Finley, Maeve, Bennett, Holden and Reed Woodrow Mr. Woodrow was a member of the Trenton Catholic Boys High School Class of 1950. He was a high school All-American football player who played in the NHSAA all-star game in West Memphis, AR. He attended Villanova University on a football scholarship. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps in S. Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Woodrow worked for 40 years for N.J. Bell Telephone (now Verizon), primarily as a switchman. He served as a union delegate for IBEW Local 827. He coached basketball in the Mercer County CYO and baseball in the HTRBA. He enjoyed travel, fine dining, fishing, Catch 5, cheering on the Phila. Eagles, and cheering on Villanova and Notre Dame football and basketball. Of course he enjoyed rooting for the athletic teams of all his descendants. Mr. Woodrow was gracious and grateful: He always replied "Thank you," no matter how small the favor.
