Maria Kolodij (nee Solowej) , 92, passed away Saturday March 2nd, 2019. She was born in Ukraine, in the village of Bortniki, oblast Ivano-Frankivsk. Mrs. Kolodij was previously employed by Atlantic Products Corporation for 16 years, Trenton Board of Education for 12 years from which she retired. She was an active parishioner of St Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church, volunteer member of Sisterhood, choir member.
She was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Tychoniak Solowej and wife of the late Simeon Kolodij; sibling of the late sister, Paraska and brother, Mykola. She is survived by her sons, Walter and his wife, Katherine Kolodij of Yardville; Jerry and his wife, Mary Kolodij of Monroe; her grandsons, Michael and Stefan; her sister Katerina, her brothers Wasyl, Ivan and Yaroslav and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may share their condolences with the family from 8:30am – 10am Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 am Thursday at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ. Requiem Liturgy will be celebrated 10:30am Thursday at St. Josephat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1195 Deutz Avenue, Hamilton with Rev. Taras Lonchyna as celebrant. Interment will be in St Mary Byzantine Catholic Cemetery No. 3 in Hamilton.
