OKSANA J. MYKYTYN, 82 Oksana J. Mykytyn, 82, of Yardville, NJ, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson Hamilton Hospital. Oksana was born in Lviv, Ukraine to Romana Fostiak and Adam Mycyk on February 12, 1934. She immigrated to the United States in 1951 as a young girl following a difficult journey through WWII displacement camps in Germany. She married Iwan J. Mykytyn on September 1, 1956 in Trenton, NJ. She started her banking career as a teller for NJ National Bank, and continued her career as branch manager for Corestates, Wachovia, Wells Fargo and then First Washington State Bank for over 50+ years. She was a long time bookkeeper for St. Josaphat Ukrainian Church, where her family were founding members and active in the church community. She was active and involved in leadership roles in the Ukrainian Women's League, Plast- Ukrainian Scouts Organization, The Ukrainian National Home and the local Ukrainian Federal Credit Union. Over her many years of service and work, she received many honors, awards and achievements. Oksana is preceded in death by Iwan J. Mykytyn, her husband of 54 years, her brother Roman Mycyk and twin brother Orest Mycyk. Oksana is survived by her daughter Vira M. Jaskir (Robbinsville, NJ), her son Russ Mykytyn (Skillman, NJ) and his wife Gina, and her son Taras A. Mykytyn (Columbia, MD) and her 8 grandchildren Daniel, Brandon and Adriana Mykytyn, Christa, Alana and Marc Jaskir and Paula and Anna Mykytyn. She leaves behind extended family, her supporting sister in laws Luba Mycyk (Chicago, Il), Maria Mycyk (Trenton, NJ) and Anne Mykytyn (Los Angeles), her first cousins Marta Danyluk (Yonkers, NY) and Joseph Ihor Mycyk (Chicago, Il) and all of their families, as well as many cousins, extended family and friends both here in the USA and in the Ukraine. Visitation will be 6-9pm with Parastas Services at 7pm on Friday April 15 at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 S. Broad St. Trenton, NJ. Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday April 16 at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church 1195 Deutz Ave, Trenton, NJ with the Father Taras Lonchyna officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetary in Hamilton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church, PLAST in Ukraine, or the Ukrainian American Women's League. The family of Oksana wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her closest friends and family who dedicated their time and energy supporting our mother during her final days with us.
