Obituary of Robert L. Docie

Robert L. Docie, 84, of Hamilton NJ passed away April 9, 2016 peacefully in his sleep. Mr. Docie was born in Trenton and was a lifelong area resident. A graduate of Trenton Catholic High School, Mr. Docie served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War as a Telecommunications Officer 3rd Class on the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea. He married his high school sweetheart, Lillian Tarcza (later Docie) shortly before his honorable discharge in 1954. He was retired from the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 27 in which he was a member for over 35 years and held various positions in the sheet metal trade. A parishioner of St. Mary's Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Mr. Docie enjoyed '50s music, jitterbug dancing, luxury cars and motorcycles, watching basketball and football on TV, spending time in Florida and summers at the Jersey Shore on the beach or gardening and grilling at home. Son of the late Katherine (Angebrandt) and Stephen Docie, and husband of the late Lillian E. (Tarcza) Docie, he is survived by his brother, Richard Docie of Trenton, son Mark S. Docie and daughter-in-law Angela M. of Yardville, son Scott R. Docie of Switzerland, grandchildren Alyssa (Eric) Yuscavage, Samantha Docie, Sarah Docie, Emily Docie and Mia Docie, great-granddaughter Mallory Yuscavage, sister-in-law Collette and Joseph DeLorenzo of Ormond Beach, Florida, brother-in-law Balint and Joyce Tarcza of Hamilton Square, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be 9:00am Friday from Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 South Broad St. Hamilton. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00am at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Grand and Malone St. Trenton. Relatives and friends may call Thursday 6:00 - 9:00pm at the funeral home.
