Filomena A. "Fay" Calisti, 100, of Hamilton passed away on Tuesday, January 2nd 2018. Born and raised in the Chambersburg section of Trenton, Fay, or "Fannie" as she was also affectionately known as, lived on Whittaker Avenue for 60 years before moving to Hamilton. Fay was employed by the Horseman Doll Factory and also as a custodian for the Washington School for many years. She loved taking day trips to Atlantic City, and vacationing in Wildwood Crest. Above all, Fay's most important role was as a caretaker for her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Daughter of the late Santo and Francesca (Gervasoni) Peroni, wife of the late Peter T. Calisti, sister of the late Lucia and Albert Peroni, Joseph and Ara Peroni, Rose and Joseph Mule, Pasqualina Peroni, and Mario and Grace Peroni, sister in law of the late Calisti siblings and their spouses, she is also pre-deceased by many close relatives and friends in the Thompson Family. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Peter R. and Barbara (Thompson) Calisti of Hamilton, grandchildren Robin and Andrew Belardino of Allentown, NJ, and Peter J. and Rachel Calisti of Hamilton, great-grandchildren Salvatore and Sofia Belardino, and Cameron Calisti, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The funeral will begin at 9:30am on Monday, January 8th from Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 South Broad Street. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church 626 South Olden Avenue. Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 3:00pm-5:00pm on Sunday, January 7th at the funeral home.
